ABOUT US The Aoy Elementary School Alumni Association is composed of volunteers dedicated to helping the students of Aoy Elementary School with their personal, educational, and financial needs. The association had its birth on November 1991 when a group of ex-students met to celebrate the school's 100th anniversary and realized that many of the school children needed help, like what was needed, when they attended the school as children, many years ago. From the school's inception, Aoy School children have always faced language and economic barriers in addition to the normal challenges faced by other elementary school children. According to the 2000 U.S. Census, as reported by the El Paso Times, May 8, 2011, the per capita income for the neighborhood families is $10,240 with 62.1% living below poverty level, 96.2% are Hispanic and 47% have limited English proficiency. The association strives to help the school children to succeed in their education and thereby succeed in life. More information about us can be gained by visiting the "Magazine" web page.
